SOCOTRANS is a Congolese limited liability Company based in Pointe-Noire.

 

Founded in 1978 at Pointe-Noire, the Congolese Transport Company (SOCOTRANS) exercised its activities as a forwarding agent until 1990

 

In the beginning of the 90s, SOCOTRANS focuses its development and investments on port activities (shipping, forwarding agency, stevedoring and transport).

 

During the 2000s, along with development of its operations in the port, SOCOTRANS has significantly diversified its activities in the areas of public works, building and quarrying.

Today SOCOTRANS employs more than 300 persons including twenty expatriates. Our fleet consists in more than 600 handling and transport machines. Our workshop based in the port of Pointe-Noire provides maintenance and repair of our fleet.

SOCOTRANS’ first goal is to meet the requirements of its customers, employees and partners. In order to do so, the Company is engaged in the defense of the Q.H.S.E. standards.

• Shipping agent: Our Company prepares and optimizes the timing and duration of ships call at the Port of Pointe-Noire. SOCOTRANS teams, strengthened by more than 20 years of experience in this area and supported by a powerful logistics structure are trained to match all types of requests, from ship owners and charterers.

   

• Forwarding agency: SOCOTRANS has a legal authorization to work as forwarding and custom agency approved by the CEMAC. Our Company is liable for obligations regarding clearance of goods transported by air or sea.

• Stevedoring, Board & Shore handling: SOCOTRANS is an experienced board and shore-handling operator. SOCOTRANS has significantly invested in up to date machinery and equipment. Its handling fleet consists of more than 160 vehicles (front loaders, top loaders, forklift truck trailers).

  Freight forwarder and carrier SOCOTRANS offers an integrated service and organizes transportation home/ home to its customers. Our company provides its customers with storage yards and warehouses within the Port of Pointe-Noire and in port bonded area for all types of goods.

• Fleet: SOCOTRANS offers one of the one most complete fleet of handling and transportation machines in Pointe-Noire. Our drivers are recognized professionals processing the most delicate operations. All the maintenance operations of SOCOTRANS are realized by its qualified technical teams.

• Building, Public works and Quarrying: SOCOTRANS masters a wide range of know-how in construction and renewal of buildings (houses, villas, guest houses, offices, oil living bases). SOCOTRANS is actually working in various sections of public works (excavation, manufacture of pavement tiles, paving).
